 NORKA for the welfare of Pravasi Malayalees

Non- resident Keralites (PRAVASIs) are facing many problems related to their job security, family welfare, rehabilitation, education, remuneration etc. Under these circumstances, legal assistance, moral support etc. are to be provided to pravasis and the Government has decided to start a new department, viz., NORKA department.
NORKA department
In 1996 the Government of Kerala organized the department of Non- Resident Keralites Affairs (NORKA Cell) to assure the well being of Non- resident Keralites and to find solutions to various problems connected to them. The department started its function in 2001.
NORKA ROOTS
NORKA ROOTS was established as a field agency of ‘NORKA’ department as per Indian Companies Act 1956, Section 25. Chairman of NORKA roots is the Chief Minister of the state.
